Mid Event Survey-- and My 100th Post

We have finally reached hour 12 in Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon! That means it is time for the mid-event survey.

1. What are you reading right now?

I am reading A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston. It is a new YA fantasy release that is a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights. I'm also listening to Mockingjay at random times so that I'm completely prepared for Mockingjay Part 2! I am also reading Twisted Fairy Tales still.

2. How many books have you read so far?

Well, I finished the last hour of an audio book version of The Martian, and I read all of Nimona. I guess that would be slightly over one book unless you would like to count it as two books....

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Readathon?

I have taken a break from A Thousand Nights for the past couple of hours. I'm really excited to get back into it.

4. Have you had many interruptions? How have you dealt with those?

Well, this morning I had to clean the kitchen. I remedied that by listening to audio books. Then I had to go to band practice this afternoon and went shopping for a little while after that. I couldn't get any reading time in during that so I just got on my phone and cheered on other readers. The only other real distractions are food. I have even tried to fix that problem because cinnamon rolls, cookies, and guacamole are worth it.

5. What surprises you most about the Readathon so far?

I haven't had the endurance to make it through an entire full length novel yet. I've only finished an audio book and a graphic novel. I'm really hoping I can push through all of A Thousand Nights soon. I still have 260 pages left!

I hope everyone else is having a great time reading.

We can make it through these last hours!

Finishing up Hour 5!

I started off the morning with cleaning the kitchen and finishing up an audio book of The Martian. I really enjoyed the book over all and gave it 4 stars!

I moved on to trying to finish up The Marvels by Brian Selznick. I'm really not in the mood for this book right now. It really isn't as good as Selznick's other books. I've only read 50 pages of it so far today.

Because I really wasn't in the mood for The Marvels I switched over to A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston which is a new YA fantasy release. So far, it's not bad. I'm really excited to see where the story goes. Obviously, not a ton has happened since I'm only 25 pages in.

Throughout the morning I've read a couple of short stories in Twisted Fairy Tales. I'm just using this to break up long chunks of reading.

Hopefully I will update again soon!

Hannah Claire.

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon is Back!

Yes, I know that the last time I posted it was the April read-a-thon. But I'm back for the read-a-thon!

This year I am also a cheerleader for the event which I'm really excited about.

Time to get things started with the introductory meme!

1. What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

I am reading from Ohio!

2. Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I'm really looking forward to Six of Crows and A Thousand Nights.

3. Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Hot chocolate!

4. Tell us a little something about yourself!

I pretty much spend all my spare time reading.

5. If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what's one thing you'll do different today?

I won't eat as many snacks, and I won't waste as much time doing random stuff.

I have to clean the kitchen before I can start reading so I have an audio book going. See you soon!
