Top 5 Friday: Movie Villain

Time for another Top 5 Friday!

This week's topic is MOVIE VILLAINS!

This week I will start with my fifth choice and work up to my first choice.

I hope you enjoy!

5. The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Don't remember him? He's the guy who scared you when you were little. He was worse than the monster under the bed and creepier than halloween. My theory is that they made him this creepy to make sure that children never ever trust people with ice cream. He gives me the chills just looking at him.

4. Smaug the Terrible from The Hobbit trilogy

He was a decent villain in the book but he's way better in the movies. Anyway, how could I resist putting the most realistic looking dragon on this list. Just a reminder, when you go see The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug in 3D, be prepared to hold on to your friends arm!

3. Loki from The Marvel Universe

I'm not in love with Tom Hiddleston like many girls my age (cough, cough LUNE, Cough..). However, he was a pretty good villain.

I just realized something.

I put Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch in the same post.

How are you fangirls holding up?

It's about to get worse….

2. Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock

In case you were wondering, I'm talking about the Moriarty from the Sherlock TV show, not the movie. I know I said that I was doing movie villains, but, yet again, I couldn't resist. How to describe Moriarty. I have no idea. No one could have played him better. He is hilarious yet terrible.

And for the moment you've all been waiting for….

1. Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter

No one could out do Voldemort.

"You just can't."

Okay, I'll stop.

It's just that I'm staring at a picture of Moriarty!

Anyway….

He is pure evil. There isn't anyone worse.

Do you want to know why he's the best villain?

He doesn't have a nose.

He cannot smell death (that was for you, my fellow Book Thief lovers).

The poison of it cannot reach him.

That is the reason.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.

Tell me what your top 5 movie villains are in the comments below.

So long!

T-Shirt Con

I'm planning on something very special for my blog next week.

Huge.

Probably not...

Anyway, I'm really excited about it.

I'm calling it the....

Are you ready for it?

T-Shirt Con!

I was not able to attend the Comic-Con in California this year.

I didn't even get to go to any of our local ones.

That is okay, though, because I'm having my own.

Sort of.

I went through my shirts yesterday and took out all of my fandom shirts. I then went and found things throughout my house that went along with the fandom such as lightsabers and Harry Potter glasses.

Thus, T-Shirt Con was born.

Next week, I will post a picture everyday of me in a fandom shirt with at least one other prop.

I will do this for six days precisely.

The fandoms that I will be honoring are the following: Harry Potter, Star Wars (twice!), Disney, Marvel Universe, and Sherlock*.

*You should know now that I do not yet own a Sherlock t-shirt (Hot-Topic, here I come!) so I have improvised.

You do not understand how tempting it is for me to go buy a bunch of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey stuff for this, but I'm on a budget....

I don't copyright this idea at all and it would be really cool if you guys joined me in this. You don't have to do it everyday, either. Just find a collection of fandom stuff and wear one outfit a day next week. If you decide to do it, just leave a comment on my daily T-Shirt Con post next week! If you have a blog and post pictures, please leave the link in the comments!

I will be starting February 3 and ending on February 8.

This is going to be fun!

Once again, I hope you join me in the T-Shirt Con!

So long!

Winter Jam Time!

I've been procrastinating.

I know it.

I should have posted more last week.

I'm sorry.

Anyway...

I guess it's time for my Winter Jam post. This one isn't as great as the post last year, but I'll give you a sneak peak of what we did.

First of all, it was cold.

Very cold.

You cannot understand how cold it was.

Really, for the past couple of weeks we've considered double-digits a heat wave.

So, Lune Lenore Violette and I did the only thing that we could.

We sang "Let it Go."

I know that this is the THIRD POST IN A ROW that features this song, but you can't have too much of this amazing Disney song!

"The cold never bothered me anyway!"

So, I say all of that to say that we were cold.

Our church decided to get VIP tickets this year because we almost didn't get in last year and we almost always have to sit behind the stage where we can't see.

Now while we did get to skip the five hour line, we still had to wait an hour to get in.

In order to make this brief, let me just say a few things.

Lune forgot her socks.

I had a short sleeve shirt and a jacket with no scarf.

Our feet didn't get warm until we had been inside for half an hour.

I'm sure you are tired of hearing about how cold we were, but I know that Lune is out there reading this and remembering those "good times."

Anyway, our friends Hannah and Sarah were going to hang out with us for the night and together we picked out the best seats.

We didn't want to sit on the floor because, well, I'm not that tall. We had a perfect view of the stage. Needless to say, we were pretty proud of our seats.

Here's a close up view of the stage.

I'm not all together sure who was on stage at this time, but I took a picture.

There were some really good bands there that night. The big stars of the night were obviously Lecrae and Newsboys. A few other popular artists were there as well such as NewSong and Plumb.

NewSong was the founder of Winter Jam and they play every year. They weren't my favorite last year but they were amazing this year! In one song they got this guy named Jared Emerson up there and he painted a picture of Jesus. You couldn't quite see it at first but when you did it was really cool.

We've all heard Plumb on the radio before and I was really excited to see her! I really like her song "Need you Now."

They usually have a hard core rock band at Winter Jam. Red played last year and they scared me. They had fire and post-Apocalypse costumes. It was weird. This year they had Thousand Foot Krutch.

Ugh...

All Lune and I got out of that was "Blow up the sky" and "Burn it Up."

Those were the only words you could understand.

There was a guy next to me who was really getting into it, though. There was originally a whole seat in-between us.

By the time TFK had gotten half way through there first song, there was 4 inches of room.

He was doing some kind of weird dance.

So...

Everyone was really excited for Lecrae, but, honestly, I'm not into rap. It's just not my thing. It was really cool getting to see him though.

Then it was Newsboys!

Wow.

The lead singer actually got up on a lift-thing and was three feet above my head.

I wish I had a picture.

I thought I was going to scream.

All in all, it was an amazing experience.

I cannot wait for the next Winter Jam.

Top 5 Friday!

I'm going to start something called "Top 5 Friday." Every Friday I will post my top five of something.

This weeks topic: TOP 5 DISNEY SONGS

I'm obsessed with Disney music. It's just amazing.

Here we go!

1. I'll Make a Man out of You from Mulan

This song is hilarious! I love all the music from Mulan but this is definitely the best song. Not to mention, the Avengers version of this is very funny as well.

2. Let it Go from Frozen

This song is just amazing. It just is. Your argument is invalid. Sorry.

3. Circle of Life from Lion King

I don't necessarily agree with the views of this song, but I still think it is a great song. It's another one of those songs you just can't argue with.

4. Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid

I really like this song and I have no idea why. You probably know what I mean.

5. Friend Like Me from Aladdin

I love the animation in the song! Not to mention the lyrics are pretty funny.

Bonus: A Whole New World from Aladdin

I couldn't resist adding this one as a bonus. I just love the song.

What are your top ten Disney songs? I'd love to find out.

So long!

My Personal Theme Songs

I thought, a few days ago, about if I had a theme song, what would it be?

This is the post where I answer that.

Here are four songs that I think describe me somewhat.

1. All Most There from The Princess and the Frog

I really like this song and I think that Tiana is a whole lot like me. I have my dreams and I am going to make them come true.

2. I Won't Say I'm in Love from Hercules

This one isn't as true for me as All Most There. I mean, I haven't had a string of boyfriends that all broke my heart, but my friends can attest to the fact that most of the time I really won't say that I'm in love. Of course, it's never really love. Oh well, this is one of the songs that I will pick.

3. Let it Go from Frozen

I like to sing this song when I'm trying to let something go. Not to mention, I really like this song! The one line that does not apply to me is "That perfect girl is gone."

4. Be Prepared from Lion King

The name applies to me more than the song. I feel like I act like Scar at times.

If you know me, I'd love to hear if you agree that these would be my theme songs.

I'd also love to find out what your theme songs would be!

So long!

Disney Love

The Christmas Experience

Hi, everyone! I am here to talk about my drama play: The Christmas Experience. We were supposed to do it before Christmas but we had too much snow.

Anyway, It was really unique and fun.

The play started off with a short skit about a girl trying to tell her weird family about Christmas.

It was pretty funny. I really wish I could have seen their final performance. Unfortunately, I was in the other part of the building trying to keep John the Baptist from being beheaded by Herod the Great. I'll explain that later.

Next was a reading of a made-up back story of Mary and Joseph. I don't actually have a picture of this one.

After that, the audience split up into four groups. They went to each of the four skits and rotated after each one until everyone had seen all of them.

Here they are.

This is the shepherd skit. It was about the shepherds running into town and telling everyone about seeing the star and all the angels.

This is the innkeeper skit. It was about the innkeeper not allowing Mary and Joseph to stay at their house and his wife berating him. That was a really bad description that I gave you, but I couldn't think of a better one.

I almost forgot, at the beginning of each skit, someone would come up and read something about the characters. After the skit was over, they would come up and ask questions about what had just occurred.

Josiah really was the best possible innkeeper.

Sarah was really good as well.

And then there was my skit. We don't have a great setup here but we made do.

I played Elizabeth, Mary's cousin while my friend Devin played Zacharias.

We did a lot of improv to make it longer and, all in all, had a lot of fun.

I did discover, however, that even fake babies get heavy after holding them for a long time.

Yes, I am holding baby John the Baptist.

As for what I told you earlier about John the Baptist and Herod….

We had been having fun with the baby. We said things like "It has Jade's eyes and Devin's mouth!" I went around letting people hold the baby as well. You see, the Herod skit (for which I do not have any pictures of) station was just outside of the room that the John the Baptist station was in. We had to wait back there while the audience was coming and during the beginning skits. We were entertaining ourselves and being ridiculous (it was actually good practice for getting into character). That was when Owen, who was playing Herod, took one of the palace guards' sword and tried to behead the baby. In case you don't know, Herod (a different one) does behead John the Baptist later in his life. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, after that was the angel skit. It was the whole thing from Gabriel's point of view. It is really funny.

We couldn't have had a better Gabriel than Josh.

Lastly was a responsive reading that was all about us praising God.

So, in the end, it was a great production. It was kind of weird, it being after Christmas and all, but that was okay.

My mom actually did a video of my skit and I'll have to post it on here soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Coming soon: Winter Jam!

So long!

Loki is Coming! -A Grammar Assignment + Other Stuff

Hi, everyone! I thought I'd double up on my posting today since I've given you two of my writing assignments in a row.

Today I had to write a public announcement to be shown on TV for grammar. I really didn't want to do it, but I decided to make it fun by choosing an interesting topic: Loki.

Trust me. I'm not in Loki's army.

I merely thought that he would make an interesting topic for my public announcement.

So, my public announcement was about Loki terrorizing the world and warning everyone about it.

Cheerful.

What I had to do was find something that the public needed to know about, draw some illustrations, and write a paragraph about what is happening.

Here are my illustrations. I took closer pictures but they are all sideways and like always, I don't want to take the extra time that I should be spending on school to edit every one of these pictures. It's just not happening.

The paragraph that I wrote is called a treatment. It has to describe some instructions for the camera man, background music, etc. Here it is.

The public announcement starts with a person chilling out at the beach. There is a beach chair and umbrella and the person is holding a drink. Cue Loki standing on a beach next to he water. Loki then freezes the person the umbrella, the beach chair, and the drink. Then cue the picture of before and after Loki froze the water. Lastly, zoom in on Loki's face. He shouts "Loki'd." At the bottom, show the words "He is coming!" The background music should be the chorus of "Let it Go" or "The Imperial March." AFter the announcement, show the words "demanded by Thor, god of thunder." The phone number will be replaced by the following: "Shout 'Heimdall, open the bifrost!'"

What do you think?

I do realize that I pretty much did another post on a writing assignment.

I need to stop.

I do have a couple of other things to show you.

We had what is called "Teen Night" on Friday. Teen Night is where a bunch of the teenagers in our homeschool group get together to play tournament style games. This time it was Monopoly Night.

Let me just say that I am obsessed with monopoly.

I own two different kinds of monopoly. Both were given to me by Ginger.

I was in it to win it.

For tournament style monopoly, we play three rounds, each with different rules.

My score for the first round: 2,500 approximately

My score for the second round: 1,100 approximately

My score for the third round: 5,023 exactly

The scores are really how much money in property and actual money you have at the end of each round.

Let me just say, the third round was so much fun for me.

I had a monopoly on the green properties with two or three houses on each.

I got to charge someone $1000 dollars.

It was amazing.

They were bankrupt practically.

Anyway, I ended up not doing as well as I did last year. Last year I finished in 10th place while this year I finished in the top 15.

My prize is pictured above.

Yes, it is a mini lamp.

It turns on my a USV port.

It's very interesting.

Anyway, Monopoly Night was awesome.

Next, thing on the agenda is….

WINTER JAM!

You may remember my Winter Jam post from last year. It was my first year going and I had so much fun. Lune and Hazel went with me and Ginger last year and our "Happy Family" will be together again this year.

Above is a picture of the Winter Jam shirt that we get with the VIP tickets.

Surprisingly, VIP tickets were only $40. We bought them because last year we bought the general admission tickets and almost didn't get in. Now we will get in without a doubt.

Lastly, here is the sunset that was outside yesterday morning.

Isn't it pretty?!

Lia was taking pictures also.

She's so cute!

That's all for today's post.

So long!

"I Dreamed a Dream…"

When i was younger my dreams for my future were big and improbable. One wish that I had for my future was to be an artist. I didn't really care what kind. I wanted to do it all whether it was a background designer for Disney or an artist who drew whatever people wanted. This was my dream for quite a while. Even if I changed my mind temporarily, it always went back to being an artist.

What would have happened if I continued in this dream? Would I be successful or unsuccessful? Would I be rich or poor?

Let us fast forward fifteen years from now when I am thirty years old, ready to make my mark on the world.
………………………….

I closed the front door of my apartment behind me. Inside was small but cosy. I took my shoes off and hung up my coat.

"Tonight has been a successful night," I said to myself. I had just gotten home from my final art show in Chicago. I had had one every Friday night. For five months, I had lived in downtown Chicago painting, sketching, sculpting, and of course, touring.

Still, Friday night was always the climax of my week. I sold a lot of my best work to people from all over. It was sad to think that it was all ending.

In a couple of days I was scheduled to fly out to Orlando, Florida for a private tour of Disney World. After that I was to attend a meeting with Disney's art manager. Over the phone, he told me that he was very interested in me working for Disney as an animation designer. I would be working with them on their upcoming movies. It was an amazing opportunity!

I will, however, dearly miss Chicago. The hustle and bustle, the sights, all the people I had met, and even the frigid air that whipped around the skyscrapers, were all things that I would miss terribly. I was used to it. It was my home. I pondered all of these things carefully as I made myself a mug of hot chocolate. Yes, I was scared, but a little fear wasn't going to stop me from achieving my childhood dreams.

"The scariest moment is just before you start." -Stephen King

I'm sorry that I'm doing another writing post. I'll try to do something a bit better in my next post!

So long!

A Literary Response to On the Illegality of Ice Cream

I had to write a literary response to something for grammar today and I chose one of Lune Lenore Violette's short stories: On the Illegality of Ice Cream. I only had to choose a paragraph, but I recommend that you read the entire story before you read my response to it.

“I thought about the quote I had stuck in my head, the Voltaire on ice cream quote. It would be rather lovely if ice cream was illegal. Illegal things had a way of taunting you, even if by themselves they were hardly appealing at all. Trespassing was illegal. Ordinarily climbing over a fence and walking around old properties and through an abandoned house would be rather boring. But it was illegal. That sent a tickling shiver up your spine. It was worth it, at least for a second.”
Why does something illegal seem so tempting?
This was the question that popped into my head as I read Lune Lenore Violette’s On the Illegality of Ice Cream. This is a complex question that requires a complex answer.
“Illegal things had a way of taunting you, even if by themselves they were hardly appealing at all.”

We can all admit that this is true. We break a rule simply because it’s a rule. Why is this? Why do we strive in our hearts to be rebellious enough to do what is considered illegal? Is it the intrigue of danger or excitement? Do we enjoy the satisfaction of showing up our authority by demonstrating our ability to break the very statute they have instituted? Whatever the reason, I believe that the answers lie in our motives. Our exact motives? Not even we know at times. Still, I believe that as human beings, we like to test authority. This will be true to the end of this world. So whatever is illegal and whether we decide to pursue it or not, no one can deny that that something is rather inviting.

Sneak Peak!

My friend Lune and I are planning something big.

Very big.

Something that will shake the Internet.

And the course of nature.

Maybe not that big.

Anyway, we aren't revealing it yet but I can give you a quick sneak peak.

We're still kind of in the planning stage but we hope to get it completed by next month.

Lune actually talks a little bit about it at the end of this YouTube video.

I hope this tweaked your curiosity. Look out for more sneak peaks!

So long!

Guys, I'm Obsessed!

Seriously, guys, it's becoming a problem.

So, today, I bought another one.

One of what, you may ask.

Another Smash Book.

Yes another.

Our local Michaels store is closing and they are having amazing sales right now. That's how I got my other new Smash Book. I just could resist getting another one!

This one is different though. I got a Smash Book kit this time. It comes with a Smash Book, pen, mini Smash Book thing, decorative tape, a "Top Ten" booklet, decorative labels, and a decorative bag. My friend Hazel has one very similar to this one.

Here are the pictures I took of it.

Here is all of it together in the kit. It was only $3 and opposed to $18, that's an amazing deal!

I really like using decorative tape so I was glad to get some more.

This is a little bag that you can put things in and put in your Smash Book. I don't know how I'm going to use it yet but I really like it.

I would have put the other pictures that I took on here, but they are all sideways and I really don't feel like going onto PicMonkey and changing that.

So, I have three empty Smash Books and a few pages left to do in my first one.

Let me know if you've like me to do posts on decorating my Smash Books or showing you some of the pages that I finish. My friend Lune is planning on doing a Smash Book post so you can check that out on her blog when she does it.

I think I'm going to do a post on my upcoming drama play soon. It'll probably be next Saturday if you want pictures from it.

If you have any great ideas for posts that I can use, comment below. I'd love to get fresh ideas from you!

Oh, and by the way, if you were worried about my mental state after my last post….

I'm getting better….

Maybe….

Does crying make it better?

Oh well.

So long!

Smash Books all Around!

Hello, everybody! Today's post will be centered on my favorite type of journal: the Smash Book!

So, I told you a bit about Smash Books in my Christmas post. Just to give you a brief definition, a Smash Book is a scrap book that you fill with anything and everything in no particular order. You can make it all neat, but it's really more fun to just "smash" it in. They come in all sorts of colors. Each color  is filled with unique pages that go with the theme of the Smash Book. Some of the themes are classic, couture, and tasty!

The reason that I'm doing this post is because I literally just got a new one. I know. I just got one for Christmas, but they were between $3.50-$4! They are usually $13-$17 anywhere else.

Here is the first Smash Book that I got. I have painted it, but before that it was tan (like all Smash Books) with a pink spine. It is the "Pretty Style" and I really like it. It is very girly and has really cool pages.

Once again, here is the Smash Book that I got for Christmas. It is the "Eco Style" and has a lot of nature, recycling, and other eco-friendly stuff in it. I know that sounds weird, but it is pretty cool.

Lastly, here is my newest Smash Book. It is the "Smart Style" and it is filled with all sorts of school-related things. I love it so much because it fits with my personality so well.

Here are all of my "Smash Pens." One one end they have a pen and on the other they have glue. The glue sometimes ends up locking the lid down, but the pen is great. Every Smash Book comes with a Smash Pen. You can buy more and even get different colors (I have a blue one and my sister has a pink one).

Here is one of the pages in my pink Smash Book. It is one of my absolute favorite pages. (Remember this one, Lune? It's the one with the picture you drew of Loki on the other side of the picture and the results of the mini reaping day I held.)

Here's a last view of my Smash Books. I haven't done anything in my new ones but I've been saving a few things for them. My pink one is almost finished and, not to mention, huge! It is literally exploding. I don't plan on doing that with my other Smash Books.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I definitely recommend Smash Books. They are so much fun!

…………………………………………...

Okay, so I know that this isn't Smash Book related but I just have to get it out.

I watched Downton Abbey today.

The American season premier of the fourth episode came out on Sunday.

But I'm not that far.

I'm still in the middle of season three.

Wow.

No movie or TV show, other than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (only at the end and that was only because it was the last movie), has made me feel that depressed.

I already knew what was going to happen because several people had spoiled it for me.

I didn't think it would be that bad.

It was.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

WHY???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you watch Downton Abbey, I just finished episode 5 in the third season. You know the one.

The one where she dies.

It was so dramatic the way they did it.

I can't stand watching seizures.

I think most of that is just because of Lia (in case you didn't know, Lia is epileptic).

She was sitting right next to me.

She even asked what a seizure was.

One day, Lia…

Anyway, I've been depressed all day. I tried to explain it to this two year old boy that I babysit but he didn't seem to care much. He was too interested in avoiding the turkey on his sandwich. Figures….

To sum things up, I'm upset which means that dementors are near by and that it is perfectly okay to eat plenty of chocolate.

So long!
